[resolved] Email Validation - Exclude Gmail (3 posts)

Is there any possible way to build in additional email address validation so that the form will not except gmail, yahoo, hotmail, and aol email addresses?

We're trying to collect businesses email addresses when people fill out a form for our email, but are finding that a lot of people are using their personal email address instead.

    Thanks!
    Jen

On the client side, you could use some jQuery validation (jQuery validate or just a simple string comparison) to block form submission if the email contains those strings.

As for blocking those on the server side, there's not a custom email validation filter... yet. I've added that to the roadmap -- for v2.2 at present.

If you need assistance getting this implemented or want to sponsor the feature, you can contact me here: http://thoughtrefinery.com/contact/

@jenrstretch graciously sponsored this feature -- Thanks Jen!

    For others:
2.2beta has this functionality -- grab it from here:
    https://github.com/nciske/salesforce-wordpress-to-lead

Sample code to block certain domains:

The official 2.2 release will be coming soon, but I wanted to get this out there ASAP for those who need it.
