    Hi jmsunflower the following possible solution was quoted a while back by one of the developers.

    Your payment might not be getting cleared automatically by PayPal. If this is the case then the plugin will not send emails for a payment where the fund is still in a “pending” state. You will need to contact PayPal and ask them to check your account and make sure that the funds are cleared automatically after a payment is made. (Solution quoted by mra13 on wordpress.org)

    Same case with me, I am using paypal sandbox and when go for a payment using my buyers account. All the process seems very smooth and I just returned to my site’s thanks page after making payment.

    When I check the status by login at paypal sandbox with my facilitator account, I found that payment status completed.

    I have also placed IPN Url (thanks page url of my website) at paypal settings.
    I have also setted up the SMTP plugin and test mails from SMTP are coming.

    Still no mails are going to the buyer and the cart order goes to trash with blank form.

    Please help me on it.

    @chaudhary Sunil did you carry out a test without Sandbox enabled?

    Sandbox enabled means..??
    How to enable sandbox..??
    Will please please elaborate

    @chaudhary, You can enable it in the plugin settings (Settings->WP Shopping Cart->General Settings->Enable Sandbox Testing).

    Please also enable debug before doing a test purchase. It lets you see whether the plugin failed to process a new order in the backend.

    Yes, both the settings are already enabled.. and getting paypal response as well…but will you please tell me the thing missing in my paypal response so that orders are going to trash.

    Yes, when I see the transaction details on paypal it shows :
    Status:Completed

    But when I go to the IPN history of 24 hours here : https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-ipns-history

    My last transaction showing the status Retrying

    Nothing added in ipn_results file.

    What to do..?? Please help…

    Now I am getting messages in my debug file in plugin/wordpress-simple-paypal-shopping-cart/ipn_handle_debug

    this is the message :

    [03/04/2015 8:14 AM] – SUCCESS :Connection to http://www.sandbox.paypal.com successfuly

    completed.
    [03/04/2015 8:14 AM] – FAILURE :IPN validation failed.
    [03/04/2015 8:14 AM] – SUCCESS :Paypal class finished.

    Please suggest any solution..

    The messages I have mentioned above post are coming when I directly hit my url followed by ?simple_cart_ipn=1

    But why it is not coming by itself from paypal. Is there any plugin setting or paypal setting I am missing.

    You have to get in contact with PayPal. I suspect that your PayPal account has a problem.
