 * I am very discouraged with the level of support/response in these forums. Every
instance I have found ovber the past hour of searching where people have lost
their notification is not getting any answers provided.
    I recently moved to
WordPress after 3 years on Movable Type. Now , my email notification mysteriously
stopped working. I suspect my host has done something, but I cannot find anywhere
in wordpress admin where to set my outgoing server and name and password. My
host has asked me for this mail server info, but I cannot find it to give it
to them. Can someone PLEASE help?

 * That’s because WordPress (and almoste evrey other php based system) uses the
mail server specified in your PHP configuration. (php.ini)
 * I’d expect a decent hosting service to know this.

 * I don’t have a php.ini file in my account files, in my root or in my wordpress
   directory.

 * That’s because it’s something you’re not allowed to change in most hosting environments.
It can only be done by the hosting service.
 * That’s why I stated that I expect a decent hosting service knows that’s the location
of the configured mail server, because they configured it themselves.

 * I’m having the same problem and it only occured AFTER I upgraded to WordPress
2.x I still use 1.5 and get emails with no problems from there and I have forums
that use php mail and we get those also, it’s just WordPress 2 that I’m having
a problem with. I’ve been haunting the board/forums/whatever you want to call
it for weeks with no resolution in sight, several users are having the same problems
and nobody can seem to solve it. And you can’t just say it’s my host (read the
first few lines in this reply). So please, any assistance is appreciated, I’ve
already tried several suggestions that was given by this board and am still having
   problems.
