Support » Fixing WordPress » email posting problem with wp-cron

  • hi, i had a problem with being able to post comments via email. i went through archives and several posts, including a tutorial page. The problem seems to be with the mail.php.

    so, i then installed wp-cron 1.4 and am having problems still. i tried to validate the wp-cron-mail.php and it came back with errors, but they made absolutely no sense to me. This is the error list:

    This feed does not validate.

    line 1, column 0: Undefined root element: br [help]

    line 2, column 0: XML parsing error: <unknown>:2:0: junk after document element [help]

    <b>Fatal error</b>: Call to undefined function: add_action() in <b>/home/m …

    In addition, this feed has an issue that may cause problems for some users. We recommend fixing this issue.

    Feeds should not be served with the “text/html” media type [help]

    I moved a copy of the file outside of the directory so someone could possibly view it and let me know what is the problem. It is here:

    I already have the pop3 email account setup and it receives my posting messages just fine, but they never make it to the blog page. Thank you!

  • this is so crazy since i spent about 7 hours working on this already, but just after i posted my issue, the email posting worked. it posted every single test post i had sent in the past 5 hours all at once. does anyone have an idea what happened? the wp-cron-mail.php page still doesn’t validate.

    i guess it is okay now, but just wondering if this is a fluke or if i should expect more problems since the .php page isn’t validating when i check it. thank you!
