So since the other thread about not working order numbers are marked as resolved and in a narrow perspective they are, I open a new thread as this is still an open issue and is more specific.

I already got the latest update of today and did re-save the plugin settings. The order confirmation emails sent to me and customers gets the post ID sent. There is no way to change the email already sent. So now there are several discrepancies with the order tab and customer invoices. The order IDs are correct in the order tab but the emails sent to customers are sending the post ID.
And what I noticed of now is that depending on the gateway the Email order number is correct or not. (This was no issue before the update) If the customer uses Paypal Express by YTH the Post ID gets send in the Email. When a user uses the gateways to pay on delivery the correct Order ID gets sent in the mail.

As more and more order get in this starts to be a organization nightmare.

How to fix that? Is a rollback to the prior version advisable?

//EDIT: YITH Paypal has an option to add a prefix to the order no and adds a “AC-” in front of it. Again this was no issue before. Can it be that this case was forgotten in your update?
Enter a prefix that will be attached to the invoice number. Useful if you have connected the same PayPal account on more shops.

    Hi @mike8040,

We have tested with the latest version of our plugin and YITH Express checkout free version plugin and the email includes the order number from Sequential order number plugin.

The order that was placed during the time when the bug was present, may have the wrong order numbers in the email which unfortunately cannot be changed now since the email has already been sent. Could you please place a new test order and see if you are still getting the incorrect order number in the email?

It is still an issue and nothing changed since I posted. Emails (subject, order detail and so on) referrer to the post ID and not to the order number. While the order number is correct in the admin panel right after a buy process.

I use the latest YITH PP plugin and did not set anything fancy in there. Again it was working flawless until the update. Is a rollback to the prior Sequential Order Number plugin version advisable?

    Hi @mike8040,

A rollback to older version is not recommended especially since we are unable to replicate this in our test environments. Please share us your Woocommerce status report from Woocommerce > Status. You can send it via this forum.

Ok, I have send the woo report through the contact form from that link. I was able to test further and deactivated the pre order plugin on the staging site but still the bug persists. SO it seems it is not related to the preo order feature. First email invoice gets the post ID. Any further emails get the order number. Sending the invoice manually sends the order number.
I asked for reply for this topic at YITH support but they decline as their gateway would not handle any order numbering.

//EDIT: On the staging site. I rolled back to 1.35 and the issue is gone. Correct order number on email invoice. So something went wonky after 1.35

Same here. I already saved the Settings but after 1 or 2 Orders i have the same Problem as before.

Roll back to 1.35. Since then the issue is gone. Emails are correct again.

But the plugin behaves weird overall. I lost a lot of trust in it because also some orders were somewhat hidden and didn’t show up on search even they were there. I could recover them by using the admin edit url with post ID.
The support is on it I guess at least I gave them access to the staging site but didnt hear anything for a while.

I roll back to 1.35 and after more than 10 Orders it looks like everything works fine for me, Thanks.

In the meantime I got the new pre-release 1.38 and tested it with the staging site. It seems to have fixed the issues. I was told that it gets released in the coming days

    Hi @mike8040, @nopax

We have fixed the code that caused the issue and released a new version. Please update to v 1.3.8 and check. Hopefully, all issues would be resolved.

If you like the plugin and support, please leave a review. It would really help us spread the word! Thanks!

I wanted to try it out and I switched from the perfectly functioning version 1.35 to 1.39 and immediately had the same problem again. So back to 1.35 …..

    Hi,

I’m on 1.39 and having the same issue as @mike8040 and @nopax

The customer invoice e-mails are not correct. It’s showing the order-id. All other e-mails are fine. How can I fix this?

    Hi @nopax @donnycashflow,

Thanks for sharing the information. Kindly confirm whether you are using any third-party email customizer plugins? If yes, share the details via this link.

    Hi,

I’ve already shared the details via that link (ticket 34320). But will do it again:

I’m using e-mail customizer Kadence WooCommerce Email Designer. As mentioned before. This only applies to the customer invoice emails. All other emails, like order confirmations e-mail etc, will show the correct order number.

    @webtoffee

Were you able to reproduce the problem I mentioned before? I still get the order-id in the customer invoice emails.
