Email notifications don’t report file changes

I installed this plugin on August 13. At first I had “Send me an email even when a scan finishes and no file changes are detected” disabled.” I didn’t receive any emails, even though files changed and the plugin showed those changes in WP admin. Test emails succeeded, so it didn’t seem to be an email delivery issue.

I enabled “Send me an email even when a scan finishes and no file changes are detected” and every day since I’ve received an email saying, “There were no file changes detected …” even when files changed and the plugin shows those changes in WP admin.
