  • I see that there are several post about the email notifications not working. Some of the complaines started over a year ago. Despite these posts, I do not see where the author has posted a fix for this.

    On my site, the email notifications will send, however they do not send every 15 minutes as the plugin FAQ states. Most of the time, it takes 5-6 hours for them to send. Additionally, when the email notifications are sent, they have the wrong time on them. I have checked the time settings in my wordpress site and they are correct. All of my other messages from wordpress/buddypress send almost instantly except the BP Better Messages. All of my other messages have the correct time shown in the email notification, except for the BP Better Messages. I am using the Postman SMTP plugin to send mail through my Gsuite account and I have never had any issues with it ( Based on this and the other posts I have read here in the support, there seems to be something seriously wrong with the email notifications.

    Hi there!

    This mean your wp-cron not runs very often, you need to setup it to run from server cron, it will make sure its sending emails every 15 minutes.

    Its also will not send notification while user is online on your website (while tab with your website is opened), that can be an issue as well.

    I will double check what can be wrong with time.

    Are you using free version?



    I use to get complaints about this issue.
    I think the problem is that many people are keeping tabs opened in their web browsers.
    I would like to try disabling :
    “Its also will not send notification while user is online on your website”
    No matter if they already got the web notification, they will get an email too.
    Is it possible somewhere please ?
