Email notification of posts

Hi Guys
I have wordpress installed and running on one server and the mail server is seperate from this.

The problem I have is that no email is sent to the admin email address when a post is added.

The email address in the admin section is working fine as it is used every day.

Is there log in wordpress we can check to see what is happening when a post is made and the email attempts to send.

I have posted this previously but have had no response from support.

WP is installed on a Linux Based Server

Mail server is on a seperate Linux server

In order to send mail the user must be authenticated
