@sueitaly
According to the documentation I can find on DreamHost
https://help.dreamhost.com/hc/en-us/articles/215730437-SMTP-quota-limits
It would seem you are below their published limit for a single post. It’s worth checking if you are sending from an allowed domain – so it should be an email address that is the same as your blog – something like admin@anaussieinitaly.com for example.
You can also try using an SMTP plugin to authenticate and push the emails via your dreamhost SMTP server (like your email apps at home) and also a email logger like the one I’ll like below so we can capture data live and see what happens.

As for the number of recipients setting, it is better set to 1.
Thanks for the reply Mattyrob. I am sending from an allowed domain with appropriate email address and for 6yrs have had no problem with the Subscribe2 plugin sending a notification of my posts. I have contacted dreamhost who gave no indication of me being under the limited numbers and supplied a a troubleshoot link from you Subscribe2 which I am going thru. I have no errors or conflict of plugins and will try your suggestion as well.
I will also reset to 1
@sueitaly
If you are using a recent version of Subscribe2 there should be a sidemen in Gutenberg or a meta box in the classic editor to Send a Preview email – it uses the core functions but send the email notification only to the email address of the currently logged in user – that may be useful in bug hunting.
Yes my Subscribe2 is updated and I have tried using that. Sometimes it sent but never arrived and other times message failed so I am still trying that out. Email- log plugin is nit updated to my version of wp so I don’t want to try that
@sueitaly
If it’s any reassurance I use that email logging plugin when testing Subscribe2 with WordPress 5.2.4 and release candidates of 5.3 without any issues.
The other option is to find another email logging plugin that you are more comfortable using.
If the preview sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t that strongly indicates a server side issue in blocking emails, the Subscribe2 code is a script meaning it either works all the time or fails all the time with simple tasks like preview emails. Variable behaviour is almost always to do with limits and configuration on the server.
@mattyrob
Thank you for letting me know you used the email plugin and for all your suggestions. I will try it all over the weekend. As you say it may be a server problem
