  • @hypematrix Yup, makes sense. Find the custom code that hooks into the plugins_url filter and you’ll find the location of your logo file.

@nlpro, there isn’t any custom code on the website. The plugin automatically takes the logo from somewhere on the website but I don’t know where.

@hypematrix Just checked the two-factor email code of the iTSec plugin and it turns our it is the only notification email which is reading the logo from the active theme settings. I believe @shanedelierrr pointed you earlier in that direction. I’ll have a better look at this tomorrow 😉 We’ll get there.

@nlpro, Thank you for checking it out. I uploaded the new logo where @shanedelierrr said but it still didn’t update in the email notification. Speak tomorrow. Thanks again.

    Hi @hypematrix,

Ok. I was able to add my own custom logo to the two-factor notification email (never done this before) by using the theme customizer and selecting a logo in the active theme (Appearance -> Customize -> Site Identity). Works fine.

Then I used the Change Logo button to change the logo. Clicked on the Publish button … and by logging out and back in generated a new two-factor notification email. And yup, there is my changed logo displayed.

In the two-factor notification email the custom logo image src is:

    https://www.example.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/name-of-image.jpeg

@nlpro, Thanks for testing it out, can you please do me a favour and try changing the logo to another one and see if it updates in the email?

@nlpro, The problem is that the logo isn’t updating when I change it there and I’m wondering if the same will happen with you or if it’s only me with the problem.

Hi @hypematrix, I tested changing the logo for my test site twice using the theme’s Site Identity settings, and I could see the logo updating correctly. Please see:
Logo 1 and Login Auth Code Email
Logo 2 and Login Auth Code Email

Does your site have any caching mechanisms (plugin/server/CDN)? If so, can you please try clearing them? I’d also recommend re-installing a fresh copy of iTSec and see if it helps.

@shanedelierrr, Thanks for testing it out and confirming that it’s working for you. My site logo is in a slightly different location:
Customize – Header – Logo & Site Identity – Logo Image
    Does that make a difference?

Yes, my site has WP Rocket and Cloudflare, I have cleared both caches but I still see the old logo in the notification email.

Will I lose the plugin settings if I delete and re-install the plugin?

    Thanks

The notification emails pull in the site logo at exactly the size and how it appears on your site, so if that is where your theme lets you update your site logo, then it should be fine.

Yes, you will lose the plugin settings if you’ll delete and re-install the plugin, and you’ll have to go through the Onboarding process again.

@shanedelierrr @nlpro I’ve had a better idea, is there away to hide the logo in the email maybe using functions.php?

    (@hypematrix)

@shanedelierrr @nlpro, I’ve just deleted and re-installed but it’s still showing the old logo 🙁

Any thoughts on hiding the logo?

    Hi @hypematrix,

Removing the site logo in the active theme using the customizer did the trick for me 😉

@nlpro, I tried this way but it didn’t update in the notification email. Do you know if there is a way I can hide it using functions.php?

Hi @hypematrix, may I know what theme you are using? Can you try switching to your installed default WordPress theme and remove the old saved logo there to see if it helps?
