Email not being sent

I am getting the “Thank you for your message. It has been sent.” message but the email is not sending. The contact form is set up the same way as a second site I have that is working. WordPress 4.9.5 running Twenty Seventeen theme and Contact Form 7 Version 5.0.1.

I’m not seeing any error messages and I’ve tried different email addresses. Any idea what can be wrong or where to look for errors?

FAQ > I see a response message “Thank you for your message. It has been sent.” with green border, but I never receive a mail for that.

I am seeing the same issue – WordPress 4.9.5, and the latest Contact Form 7. I am able to send mail via the php mail() command with a test PHP file, so I don’t think it’s the mail server or spam. I don’t see anything in the mail logs after submitting the form and otherwise don’t have any indication that mail is being sent, other than the “success” notification.

This may be a WordPress issue or config issue actually. I don’t get Forgot Password emails either, and nothing in the mail log after submitting it. I also installed: https://wordpress.org/plugins/check-email/ and don’t get an email (nothing in logs) either.

Thank you for your input. Turns out my ISP allows emails to be sent from accounts that do not exist, that’s why the form worked on my older website (I never changed the From on the email setup from wordpress@readingcontinuum.com to an existing email address). When I set up the contact form on the whytewoodworking site I left default value in From address. Once I changed the From address to one that existed problem solved.

I’m not sure what our issue was, but went around the problem by installing an smtp extension, and sending mail through Amazon SES.
