Not sure if I’m being a total numbskull here, so perhaps someone could shed some light.
I’m building a WP theme, and have put a form in my header.php for a user to subscribe to a mailing list. The database for the email addresses is somewhere else, so I don’t need to use a plugin for this.
My problem is this. I have created the form, and written a script to write the email address to the database. I’ve tested it and it works fine. However when I copy the form into the header.php file it doesn’t work any more. I’ve put the absolute path to the php script in the action of the form, and tried putting the php script in the themes directory and the root directory of the site.
It does seem to append the data from the form to the URL though.
Could this be the reason and can it be fixed, or am I missing something really obvious here?
