# EMAIL DELIVERY ERROR: the plugin

 * Hello Support Team,
 *  getting below error
    EMAIL DELIVERY ERROR: the plugin WP Mail SMTP v2.0.1 logged
   this error during the last time it tried to send an email:
 * Mailer: Default (none)
    PHPMailer was able to connect to SMTP server but failed
   while trying to send an email. Please review your WP Mail SMTP settings in the
   plugin admin area. Consider running an email test after fixing it.
 * Please guide accordingly

 * First, send a direct email from your email address that you want to configure
   with WP MAIL SMTP. Check if the email is going or not.
 * If it’s not, then check if the email address is correctly set up.
 * And if it is, then check for the correct email address in From Email field in
   WP MAIL SMTP.
 * Also, try to send a test email from here: [https://prnt.sc/sftvoa](https://prnt.sc/sftvoa),
   to check if it is correctly landing in the inbox.
 * If you are still getting the error, you should ask for help from WP MAIL SMTP

 * Please check the below error for test email
 * There was a problem while sending the test email.
 * An issue was detected.
 * This means your test email was unable to be sent.
 * Typically this error is returned for one of the following reasons:
 * – Plugin settings are incorrect (wrong SMTP settings, invalid Mailer configuration,
   etc).
    – Your web server is blocking the connection. – Your host is rejecting
   the connection.

   with WP Mail SMTP to any of your other email address.

    Send Email You cannot send an email. Mailer is not properly
   configured. Please check your settings.

 * No please don’t send a test email from WP Mail SMTP.
 * Suppose if you are configuring this email: `name@mywebsite.com` in WP Mail SMTP
   then please send a direct email from your email id `name@mywebsite.com` to any
   of your other email id like `yourname@gmail.com` and see if you are receiving
   email at `yourname@gmail.com` or not.

 * I understand the problem is status is still showing pending …
 * If you change this, we will send you an email at your new address to confirm 
   it. The new address will not become active until confirmed.

 * You have detected the problem.
 * Yes, in order to receive email notifications from WordPress, you must have to
   first click on the confirmation link sent to your email address.
 * Because you have not confirmed the email address that’s why you are not getting
   emails.
 * **Note: Please don’t post your email address in the forum.** It’s not a good 
   practice.
