Hi, I am running woocommerce 2.0.18 and I trying to customize a few things in the email templates. The problem I am having is only certain email template files are working. I have the folder structure in my theme set up properly as well (mytheme/woocommerce/emails/). When I make changes to “email-header.php” and “email-footer.php”, those changes work, but others do not. I have tried this in a fresh install of wordpress and these issues persist.
In the past I have tried to edit all of the other template files to only watch the changes not take effect (even if I intentionally break the php code). This didn’t matter that much because the customer wasn’t picky about the template, so I lucked out.
This time around, things in the email templates need to change but they still won’t. I am previewing the emails in the woocommerce options after you click “Click here to preview your email template”. I’m not sure if it’s a problem with that feature not loading the files I am overriding it with, or if it’s just an overall issue. I’m not in a position to test out sending woocommerce emails right now.
Here is exactly what I am trying to achieve:
I want to change the wording of Shipping Address and Billing Address on the invoice and the email the admin receives to “Sender” and “Recipient”.
According to the back end settings, this is where the admin order notification is: yourtheme/woocommerce/emails/admin-new-order.php
I looked through this file and found a get template reference to “email-addresses.php”. I edited this file and uploaded to see no changes. Changes aren’t taking effect in mamp either either. This file is referenced in the other templates as well, so even if I’m editing the incorrect template to see changes, that information should still be requested in other templates.
Can you investigate this issue or explain what I’m doing wrong please?
