Hi, is it possible to setup email confirmation for a user when they register? Inside of automatically signing them in, can they receive a normal email on which they have to confirm their email, then be able to login?

Can this be done on WooCommerce, or do I need to use a 3rd Party plugin to achieve this?

  • Maybe. In WooCommerce settings, Account tab, ensure
“When creating an account, automatically generate an account password”
is checked. Then when a user registers, their password is sent to them by email. So, if their email is invalid, they won’t get the password.

I think by default they are left logged in when they register, so there is an opportunity for them to do something even though they have an invalid email. Is that a problem for you? Not sure, please try it.

Hi Lorro, I have this setting enabled already:

“When creating an account, automatically generate an account password”

I actually want the option of them to confirm the email prior to them logging in to prevent spam as when they register they automatically login and I dont want this.

Not out-of-the box, but there are quite a few plugins around that manage user registration. Its a common requirement. I’m sorry, I don’t know of one. Check out wordpress.org/plugins, woocommerce.com and codecanyon.net.

    Hi there,

    You can try:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-approve-user/

I am marking this as resolved, but feel free to follow up or open a new thread anytime.
