    Dear gurus,

I post blog entrys from my cell phone. They end up as iso-8859-1 formated messages in a pop3 mailbox. wp-mail.php picks up the messages and publish them on my blog.

The problem is that my wordpress 1.5 installation uses an utf-8 formated database and the messages are in iso-8859-1. I can't post in utf-8 from my cell phone.

Is there a iconv hack or something else out there to help me convert my messages to utf-8 before posting the messages to the blog.

    Blue Skies,
    /David

    Type this into your browser:

    [YOUR BLOG DOMAIN]/wp-admin/options-reading.php

You should see a text box for how you want to encode your blog, change it to iso-8859-1

I want to encode my blog in utf-8, but I want to convert iso-8859-1 email posts to utf-8.

Why? I mean its going to be a lot harder, from a support point of view. Why do you want your blog in utf-8?

The main reason for me to use utf-8 is to support non latin characters.

I solved the problem with a simple pipe from iconv.
    /usr/bin/iconv -f iso-8859-1 -t utf-8 | cat >> /path/to/Mailbox
