Hi there. We have this plugin installed on our site, and everything seems to work great about it, except that we aren’t receiving emails at MailChimp once someone has signed up? Or maybe a better explanation is, the people signing up don’t seem to be receiving the confirmation email to “confirm” their subscription. We know for certain the email address we used to “test” this was not already in the email list, and we double-checked the API key and List user ID. We have also checked the spam folder, and the confirmation email was not in there either.
We have also looked in the forum for other problems similar to this, but none seem to have helped. We even waited an hour for the confirmation email to come through, but nothing came.
Any other reasons why this wouldn’t be working properly? Any help is greatly appreciated…thanks!

I set up newsletter list at MailChimp and configured newsletter plugin with correct API key and List ID along with form. The checkbox “Prevent double opt-in” is unchecked. When I test it I can put whatever email (that is not listed at MailChimp – the list there is empty) and submit it with correct form behavior (feedback alert about succesful submitting) but any email is added to the MailChimp list and any feedback email about subscription arrives. What I did wrong? Please help me.

I have since removed this plugin from our page’s “face” since it was not working, but if anyone has a solution to the problem, I would consider using the plugin again. Thanks!
I have the exact same issue. I have tested this to death and nothing works. I have no choice but to delete and try something else. Anyone have a suggestion?
I was having this same issue until I signed out of WordPress. Then when I subscribed as a “stranger” to my blog, MailChimp’s confirmation email came through immediately. Fluke? I don’t know, but I got confirmation emails from both the widget sign-up form and the comment checkbox once I was signed-out of WordPress.
Glad to know I’m not the only one that was having problems! I just gave up entirely and un-installed it 😛
Why is this post resolved? It does not work for me. I use API on advice of the author, but nothing happens, no emailadress in Mailchimp and no subscriptionmail to the email.
This is not your thread – if you need help, please start a new one per the forums rules.
When testing the plugin please make sure to use an email address that is NOT already on your list. MailChimp will just silently ignore sign-up requests coming from e-mail addresses which are already on your list.
Also, consider switching to my newer plugin aimed specifically at MailChimp users. It can be found in the WordPress repository here: MailChimp for WP.
