Hi, we’re trying EM after using The Event Calendar Pro for quite a while as they have never fully integrated WPML and we need a bi-lingual calendar.

I have the latest versions of WP, EM, WPML and the EM WPML plugin. We’ve disabled a lot of options (recurring, booking, etc) so that it’s a very simple calendar.

But after translating the main EM pages we use (Events, Categories, Locations) and translated our test events, the calendar is blank in our second language (Spanish). To translate the events, we went to edit the event, then clicked the translate icon in the Language pane to enter the Translation editor. We translated all fields and marked the event as ‘Translation Complete’. But nothing shows up on any of the calendar pages. We translated the title of the main Events page and that does show up, but no events.

As EM looks like it’s going to take a lot more work with formatting/styling to make it work well compared to Event Calendar Pro, we want to make sure that it is definitely working well with WPML before committing as that is the only reason for us to switch to it.

    Thanks for any tips!

    Hi,

When you say the calendar is blank do you mean there are no entries on the calendar, or that it’s a blank page?

Which version of Events Manager, WPML and WordPress are you using? Thanks.

Sorry. When I switch to second language (Spanish), there are no events listed. The page does display with the proper Spanish title, and as I’m using FullCalendar plugin the calendar view shows, but none of the events I translated are showing. I did try disabling FullCalendar, but same issue. And the widget shows no events either when in second language.

    I’m using the following:
    – WP 3.8.2
    – EM 5.5.2
    – EM WPML Compatibility plugin 0.3
    – WPML Multilingual CMS 3.1.4
    – WMPL String Translation 2.0.4
    – WPML Translation Management 1.9.3

We have fully tested WPML and it appears to be properly translating posts, pages, Gravity Forms, media, slides, menus, etc.
