Hello. Just want to thank you again for this plugin. It added 5 or so points to my website’s speed test.

I’m just having a minor problem. When I run the speed test on any of my pages I get a notification regarding the caching:

Now, I read the sticky note posted by Frank regarding this issue. I am not a developer, so I don’t want to touch my php files. I downloaded a plugin called “My Custom Functions” which allows me to paste in php code without having to touch my functions.php file. I did the following:

But I’m still receiving a notification from Google stating that I should disable the “http://regalities.com/wp-content/cache/autoptimize/css/autoptimize_82a55b7ab698e7c4a588dc0eb4009e64.css”

I’m new to WordPress, so I’m not entirely sure what this even means 🙁

My website is hosted by Godaddy, if that has anything to do with it.
My website (that I’m still developing) is Regalities.com

Again, a massive thanks to Frank for this plugin. On the pages I have finished image optimization on I was getting 85/100, but now I get roughly 89-92/100.

the problem you describe can be solved by choosing “inline all CSS” or “defer & inline CSS”, see the FAQ for more info.

The function you copy/pasted in your custom functions server another purpose alltogether 🙂

    hope this helps,
    frank

    Hey Frank,

I read your FAQ and checked off the inline all CSS box, but no visible change seemed to happen. But, I’m not going to worry about it. Your plugin has made my website load much faster, and my mobile page speeds are pretty fast too.

I’m really happy with the results as they are. I’m not going to obsess over my score.

I’ll mark this as resolved, but I have one last question for your if you’re reading this. I read about your Youtube plugin and I’m wondering if it is able to embed Youtube videos without yielding a cast_sender.js error. For some reason, whenever I embed a Youtube video into my product pages, I get many cast_sender.js errors. It is for this reason that I do not put Youtube videos on my site. Does your plugin bypass this error?

    Thanks again!

    Warm regards,
    Peter

wp youtube lyte actually creates a very light dummy player, with the youtube player only loaded when the user clicks on the lyte one. so yes, that would bypass that pesky error 🙂

    have fun,
    frank
