Hello Bracht, thank you very much in advance for attending to my request.

I’m working on my recipe website made with Elementor & Elementor PRO I have already done the single post template and I am adding the recipe details with your plugin, to do this dynamically I have created a custom post field that takes the recipe ID and inserts it into my single post template as a shortcode as follows:

    Custom field
    j5Muv1.th.jpg

    Shortcode
    j5XZF4.th.jpg

The main problem is that when doing it this way, it does indeed insert the corresponding recipe, but it does not insert the metadata, I think the problem comes from the fact that it does not have parent post assigned.

How could I force it to display the metadata to fix this problem?

Thank you for taking the time to read me and I apologize if my English is not very good, I speak Spanish.

I have checked more cautiously the plugin configuration and I have found that in the advanced section there is an option called Output Recipe Metadata that solves this problem.

Happy to hear that setting works for you!

I do recommend making sure the parent post is set as well, as it can affect other features. You could manually set the wprm_parent_post_id meta for the wprm_recipe post type to achieve this.

Thanks for mentioning it, does it work also if in the Recipe Existence configuration I select Public – Recipes have their own URL as a custom post type? I think it’s a little more comfortable than assigning to each new recipe that I create the ID of the parent post through the wprm_parent_post_id meta.

Then with Rank Math SEO I can prevent these URLs from the post type wprm_recipe from being indexed in the sitemap

I’m afraid that wouldn’t work for all features either.

For example for comment ratings it uses ratings from comments given to the parent post of the recipe, so those need to be linked correctly.

I’d use some code to check that custom field you’re using upon save and then set the ID in that meta.

I understand what you are saying, I will follow your advice then and assign the parent post ID manually as you mentioned.

It would be nice later on to enable in settings the possibility to allow to assign this ID to the recipe from WP Recipe Maker > Manage page as well as to allow to select the status of the post from Draft to Public without having to do it from the hidden post type I’m sure those who want to insert the recipe via shortcode dynamically this would be very useful for them.

    Thanks Brecht for the help!
