Why are the sites where I have Elementor installed saying there is an update to 3.2.1 when the version shown here is 3.1.4 (which is the version I have installed)?

This is the free version I’m talking about not Elementor Pro (which I know is 3.2.1) Have you got your upgrade messages mixed up?

    This notice wasn’t there yesterday.

At one of my sites it’s a request to update to Elementor 3.2.1
but at the other sites no update requests.

There is no clickable link to do the update
and the content of Elementor 3.2.1 shows content of 3.1.4.

    Very confusing!

@missveronica it took a while but eventually it appeared on all mine with Elementor. A couple of them also have Elementor Pro, most don’t just Elementor, but they all showed it. I had a clickable update link on mine.

Weirdly it has just disappeared form one of the sites.

I used the rollback plugin on a staging site to see what was going on. Rollback versions showed:

    3.1.4Installed Version

(it went back all the way into the 2.+ None of the Changelogs were working)

Seems like someone has screwed up the upgrade notifications and it needs removing else people may inadvertently upgrade and mess up their sites.

Found a changelog on GitHub but the release on WP org seems to be a mess… had the v3.2.0 visible and already updated on some sites, had JS errors in the console, reverted, and now some sites show v3.2.1 but with a warning that it may break the site… so I’ll just wait to see what’s happening, hopefully not the same as the first v3 versions.

    Changelog on Github:

    https://github.com/elementor/elementor/blob/master/readme.txt#L220

PS: if you are doing the update, I suggest to do it on a staging environment or at least do a backup first…

@dcgavril thanks for that info. Considering how they are messing up the upgrade notification and the version on here, I think I’ll be waiting a while before updating. I have a feeling it may indeed be like the first v3 versions. 🙁

Hi, I use Elementor free and also I found the message requesting upgrade to version 3.2.1. but this causes problems with several widgets (image, video…), they are unusable. I’ve tried everything (cache cleaning, CSS regeneration, switching plugins on and off…), but it really seems that the problem is this latest update. I had to do a restore with the back-up. I ask you, do you advise me then not to update and try later? Do you think it’s an error? In general, what happens if you don’t update Elementor to the latest versions? I’m sorry, I’m not very experienced like you and I’ve never had such problems with Elementor. Thank you very much!

Elementor free 3.2.1. causes several problems with gadgets and builder. I’ve made a downgrade and all solving well. Please verify!!!

    (@alicenatali)

Yes indeed it is. But do you have to leave it always like that, at version 3.1.4? Do not update it anymore I mean?

I hope they release a corrected version soon…

@alicenatali I personally intend to wait for a while till they have sorted the issues out and make sure all the plugins have also been updated to be compatible with it.

On the plugins part when it says it has been tested against, on the sites with Elementor Pro it said it has only been tested up to version 3.1.0 (current version for Pro is 3.2.1). Now if they haven’t even made sure it’s compatible with the current Pro version, doesn’t bode well does it. Needless to say none of the other Elementor plugins have been tested with it according to the message.

So, I would leave it as long as you can before updating it. I expect this forum will be swamped soon with people complaining about broken sites.

Wait till they release a stable version and all your Elementor plugins have updates to be compatible.

Thanks, I’ll do that too then since I’m not an expert. Let’s wait!

Elementor 3.2.1 has problems with image editor, video, image pane. is it advisable to revert to version 3.1.4 or 3.2.0?

    wp10469814

    (@wp10469814)

I reverted to version 3.1.4. Everything seems to be working again.
Can anyone tell when it will be reliable to update Elementor?
    Thank you
