 * Hi guys, need some urgent help here. At some point over recent days, my Elementor
   plugin seems to have vanished from my WordPress and as I have built and edited
   my entire site using Elementor, my live site is now unrecognisable.
 * Obviously, I have tried to simply re-install the plugin however the install fails
   with the following message: Destination folder already exists. /vhost/wphost2/
   l/e/v/levland.com/www/wp-content/plugins/elementor/
 * Apologies in advance is this is basic but firstly, how do I reinstate the plugin?
   and when reinstated, will all of my edits and formatting etc simply return to
   normal?
 * Many thanks
 * Sam

 * **Update: I have now restored the site to a previously backup up version which
   seems to have resolved the issue. I would still like to learn how this happened
   though and how I can stop it from happening again.
 * I have a feeling that this was due to a recent update of the plugin, please can
   someone explain how I can disable auto updates of plugins in WordPress?
 * Thanks again

 * I’ve experienced this over the weekend on a few sites.
 * What I belive has happened is that the old version was removed, but the new version
   was not installed. Probably, there was a connection issue or a conflict.
 * This issue can be resolved by manually adding Elementor back into your plugins
   directory.

 * Hi
 * THe only solution to reslove this you will need to reverse you backup before
   the issue happened this obvisly happens because of third party plugin conflict
   with elementor.
   To rule out the possibility of a plugin or theme conflict, please
   deactivate all your plugins (besides Elementor and Elementor Pro) and then update
   to the newest version If it solves the issue reactivate them one by one to find
   the culprit. If it didn’t help, switch your theme (temporarily) to a default
   WP theme such as Twenty Nineteen and see if it makes any difference.Also, this
   could happen due to our Elementor performance experiments you can try to deactivate
   them. To deactivate them you can go to Elementor > settings > featuresPerformance
   features currently in the experimental stage are:
    - [Optimized DOM Output](https://elementor.com/help/what-is-the-optimized-dom/)-
      This experiment is designed to improve performance by decreasing the number
      of wrapper elements present in the HTML generated by Elementor.
    - [Improved Asset Loading](https://elementor.com/help/optimized-assets-loading/)–
      Should improve page speed by only loading the functionalities needed by that
      page. This experiment reduces the amount of code loaded by default, which
      translates to significantly faster page load times and better page speed scores.
    - [Improved CSS Loading](https://elementor.com/help/conditional-and-inline-css-load-experiment/)–
      An experiment that only loads the CSS of widgets on a page once, in order
      to prevent multiple requests to the server. With this experiment, CSS files
      are loaded as inline style tags.
    - [Inline Font Icons](https://elementor.com/help/inline-font-awesome/) – This
      experiment renders icons as SVGs without loading the Font-Awesome and eicons
      libraries. Since SVGs are vector-based images which are rendered using the
      browser’s engine, they do not increase server requests which improves performance
