There is an article about this issue on devowl:
https://devowl.io/2021/elementor-cookie-gdpr/
It reads in this article:
‘Whether these “cookies” are actually considered necessary is disputed.’
This article was written before TTDSG, and for Germany it is quite clear a violation of the TTDSG.
We are releasing an article about this issue by the end of the month. It would be nice, if we could provide a workaround, or even better a permanent fix, to our readers.
I am aware, that there is a workaround on github but that isnt TTDSG-compliant fix, because you still save the data, and wipe it afterwards.
Hi,
Could you please send me the URL to your site?

You want me to reveal websites to the public, that are currently not compliant to german laws, due to the use of your plugin?
How would that help the issue?
You can reproduce that behavior on your own site:

Hi, I apologize for the delayed response.
This cookie is not saving ANY personal information, all it does is that it saves technical information necessary for the site to function normally.
PageViews and Sessions are for function purposes and do not violate the law.
The use is for example so that the site will know if the user has already visited the site and not to show the popup again (if set that way), otherwise, the functions of the popup wouldn’t work.
I hope this helps you 🙂
