    Hi kbatdorf (@kbat82)

    I’ve been using MetaSlider for a long time – and love the simplicity … thanks!

    MetaSlider also works with Elementor BUT for some reason the WYSIWYG-feeling in the backend is lost (I use the MetaSlider block).

    instead of the first image the settings are displayed …. any chance that this could be fixed?

    The MetaSlider works fine “frontend”

    You can see a screenshot of the problem here:

    Thanks

    Hi @medieskolen,

    That page should only show if the conditional is_admin() is true. It might be something to show the Elementor creators as I don’t think they want that to happen. We basically only use that to determine if the plugin should show an admin built slide or a public facing slide:

    if ( is_admin() && current_user_can( $capability ) ) {
    	return $this->get_admin_slide();
    }

    return $this->get_public_slide();

    If you know of a similar conditional for Elementor I could add it in to add an extra check, something like:

    if (!is_elementor() && is_admin() && current_user_can( $capability ) ) {

    Hi @medieskolen,

    I’m going to mark this as resolved as we didn’t hear back, but please feel free to comment or open a new issue if needed, thanks!

    Hi kbatdorf (@kbat82)

    (Sorry – the answer came this friday …while having holliday 😉

    I godt this answer for Elementor:

    I thought the metaSlider team already had the correct code to fix the issue.

    This would need to be sent directly to our developers over at our Github:https://github.com/pojome/elementor/issues
    and it will then be followed up by them to collaborate with MetaSlider.

    Kindly create a github post their and they will follow up with you.

    Hey @medieskolen,

    No problem, did you create the issue there? They will probably want more information from you first, then I can check on the conversation there on Github.

    kbatdorf (@kbat82)

    I’ve done my best … I hope you’ll follow up 🙂

    Comments from GitHub

    Elementor provides two methods that can be used to determine weather the post is currently in the editor.
    is_edit_mode() and is_preview_mode()

    and

    As @joshmarom mentioned, Elementor uses different methods to identify if the user is in editing mode.

    The MetaSlider widget is a WordPress widget which not fully compatible with Elementor.
    You can contact MetaSlider developers and direct them here or better yet, ask them to create an Elementor dedicated widget for full compatibility.

    I hope you understand what they are talking about and that you’ll make your great plugin more usable with Elementor 🙂
    Happy New year by the way

    Hi @medieskolen,

    Thanks for the follow up. Are you using the MetaSlider widget or are you just putting the shortcode inside a standard text widget? Can you try the latter? i.e. grab the shortcode from the slideshow settings page and paste it into a standard Elementor text widget. Does it work in that case?

    Hi Kevin / kbatdorf (@kbat82)

    I hope this screencast will explaine the problems 😉

    Hi Kevin / kbatdorf (@kbat82)

    I wonder if you found a solution?

    Hi @medieskolen,

    Must have missed the last notification for the video. I just watched it once, but it looks like it’s working when you use the shortcode module, right? I guess Elementor adds that module because they have issues when putting shortcodes in text modules. Based on the video, it looks like they have quite a few issues rendering the code.

    If it works with the shortcode module, can you just always use that?

    Hi kbatdorf (@kbat82)

    Its not really working … when I use the shortcode (with the shotcode block) it looks right, but when returning to the page to edit the content in any way …. metaSlider is shown the same way as earlier here : (http://fgunordsjaelland.dk/videoer/metaslider-elementor-problem.jpg)

    I hope that youl’ll take a look here : https://github.com/pojome/elementor/issues/6564
