Elementor editor widgets not loading with ASE active

    Hello, I’d like to submit an issue I’m facing on the latest free version of ASE and latest version of Elementor plugin. When the ASE is not active, the Elementor editor widgets area loads fine:

    However, upon activating ASE plugin (without even enabling any of the options), the widget area in Elementor is now infinitely loading:

    This makes impossible to add new widgets or edit existing ones, so the process of editing the website is basically not available.

    @visedfaq thank you for reporting this. Are you sure that there are no modules in ASE that are turned on? There could be a bug when the Disable Components >> DIsable REST API module is turned on. Currently invesigating.

    If you downgrade to v7.3.3, do you see the same issue?

    @qriouslad hello, the plugin version doesn’t matter and there are no modules enabled within ASE. I can create and share an account to your email, so you can have a look for yourself. We have another website with ASE + Elementor and it works fine in there it seems, but still on this particular website it’s ASE activation that triggers this issue, so this should be investigated nonetheless.

    @visedfaq noted. When opening the Elementor editor, please open up your browser inspector (right click anywhere on page, and click Inspect), go to the Console tab, and please check if you see any javascript error being shown. If so, please take a screenshot and send / attach it here.

    Additionally, please go to Tools >> Site Health >> Info and copy the WP environment data here (there’s a button for that).

    This wordpress.org forum specifically prohibits sharing any and all type of login credentials.

    @visedfaq thank you. Still not able to guess why and how ASE could’ve triggerred those errors. None seems directly related to ASE, which is logical, as ASE would not load any JS asset if none of the modules are enabled.

    I do see errors related to the following plugins:

    • bdthemes-element-pack
    • rankmath

    If you compare the list of plugins between this site and your other site, what are different?

    Can you try the following?

    1. Disable all plugins not related to Elementor, and see if Elementor editor loads OK or not. I assume Elementor will load just fine.
    2. Try activating one by one (only one each time) other plugins. e.g. enable ASE only, and see if Elementor still loads OK or not. If so, then ASE is not the trigger / cause of the error.
    3. Keep doing step 2, activate another plugin, disable ASE, etc. This way, you can test all the Elementor-related plugins in a situation when another plugin is active, and see if that other plugin is causing any error or not.

    @qriouslad okay, I will try this. Even if, for example, Element Pack has an issue with your plugin – it’s after activating ASE when widgets stop working, not vice versa. When ASE is not active, everything loads just fine. So maybe it’s up to you to avoid conflicts with other popular plugins, don’t you think?

    @visedfaq yes, plugin conflicts is something that should be resolved. It’s been done several times in the past. However, we need to determine if it’s indeed ASE that is causing issues or another plugin, which is why I suggested those steps.

    The conflict is indeed with Element Pack plugin – when it’s disabled, and ASE is enabled – everything works just fine. I was actually able to fix the issue when I disabled all default “Extensions” of Element Pack here:

    We don’t use those, but some of them were active by default. When I deactivated all of them, the editor works fine with both ASE and Element Pack enabled. So, you can try testing internally which “Extension” creates a conflict with ASE, in order to fix it.

    Otherwise, please also try contacting their support desk. The same can be said about their plugin causing a conflict with ASE. Maybe they have clues that will be useful to troubleshoot the conflict.

    @visedfaq installed with ASE activated and turning on many modules. Element Pack has all the free ‘Extensions’ enabled. I’m able to load Elementor editor just fine. So, I’m unable to reproduce the issue you are seeing.

    @qriouslad interesting, I’m using Pro version of Element Pack, but I can’t share the zip file just like that because without the license key you won’t have access to all features.

    @visedfaq which is why I suggested that you also contact Element Pack support desk and report the issue. Maybe they have some clue as to what is causing the error. This is common practice with resolving plugin conflicts.

    @qriouslad okay, so I did some more testing (because the issue appeared again), and apparently the issue was actually caused by these two settings in the JetElements plugin:

    When I disabled Jet Templates and set “Editor Load Level” to “Low”, now it finally loads OK with Element Pack, ASE and JetElements enabled.
