• Hey.

    I am currently working on deciding which page builder I’m gonna be investing in. I’ve tried Beaver Builder, Visual Composer and now Elementor.

    I actually thought Elementor was pretty good, but when I went to the dashboard the option to edit a page in Elementor (on the Pages-page as well as i the Edit page) had disappeared – even though the plugin is still installed?!

    I tried reinstalling the plugin but it hasn’t helped.
    Any idea what the problem is?

    Best regards,
    Jesper

  • Did all your edit with Elementor tabs dissapper or was it just one? If you start a page with editor and don’t go to Elementor to add more, your list of pages will not show Elementor. You need to select the Edit with Elementor box at least once. Hope this helps.

    I just made one page with the Elementor builder, none of the other pages was made with Elementor. There is no “Edit with Elementor” button anymore on the “Pages” site or on the specific page backend.

    Hi Jesper,

    Can you please provide more info, like the page url where this is happening?
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/please-read-before-you-post-an-issue/

    What happened right before this happened? Did you add a third party plugin, did updates?
    There are many factors that could cause this so we need more info please.

    Have you turned the other page builders off and on while testing these? Are the other page builders Deactivated?

    #LogoLogics > the URL is http://www.samfundstanken.dk/Elementor-phlox/, but I only created this page in Elementor, and since it stopped working, I’ve had to go back to Visual Composer, where my “website is under construction”-page was created through – which is why the above-mentioned page looks weird…

    I was just creating the page, I didn’t add any plugins or nothing. I just went from the WYSIWYG-editing window into Dashboard, and then the “Edit with Elementor” option vanished.

    #LesTexas60 > Yup, I tried removing every plugin except for Elementor, didn’t work. I tried removing everything, including Elementor, and only re-install Elementor, that didn’t work either. I tried going back to a WP-default theme, didn’t work.

    Hi,

    When I inspect the source code of that page, I can still see traces/links to Elementor, Visual composer and something called fl builder? that, if I am not mistaken is coming from even a third pagebuilder called Beaver Builder:

    <style type="text/css">
    	.fl-builder .site-content{ max-width:1100px !important; margin:0 auto !important;}
    </style>

    That said, I am surprised that page is even showing something haha.
    In my experience, you should not mix multiple pagebuilders into one site, let alone one page. There can only be “one captain on the ship” 🙂

    My quess is, you tried to edit that page with all these pagebuilders and now that page does no longer know which captain’s orders to follow.

    Please try to completely erase all code from that page ( to do so, go to the default WordPress editor on that page and click on “text”).

    You will probably see all sorts of old left over code from those pagebuilders.
    When it is completed clean, save the page, clear all cache if any.

    Make sure ONLY Elementor is active, go back to that clean page and see if the Elementor edit option is back.

    Oh, oh, I see you use the Tesserac theme: https://tesseracttheme.com/home/
    That theme has a build-in pagebuilder too!!

    I would never go with a theme with build in pagebuilders or woocommerce.
    First of all, I like to choose if and what pagebuilder I want to use.
    Second, I want control over that pagebuilder so it gets updated as soon as it needs to.

    If it is integrated, this depends on the theme author if and when he updates the pagebuilder and you wont even know if that pagebuilder is outdated or not.

    Sigh. And that theme is REALLY not welcomed here.

    *Looks*

    Here you go.

    I am sorry but that theme is not supported in these forums for the following reasons.

    1. The Tesseract theme is not GPL compatible. The terms of on the author’s site include this verbiage.

    http://tesseracttheme.com/terms-of-use/

    This license does not grant you permission to:

    • Remove any copyright from all versions of the Tesseract theme without the purchase of the Unbranding Plugin license
    • Advertise the download of the theme for sale
    • Attempt to decompile or reverse engineer any software contained on Tesseract/Gogoit Corp.’s web site or products

    Which pretty much guarantees that that theme is not for these forums. That’s a real deal killer in this community.

    Non-GPL products are not welcome in the WordPress community. Official WordPress policy states that all plugins and themes that are publicly released are required to adhere to http://wordpress.org/about/gpl/

    Any support requests for non-GPL products are usually ignored, in the interests of supporting the community and its freedoms.

    2. This theme is a commercial product even though the author gives his theme away for free. In order to modify the copyright statement (according to the author) you need to purchase a plugin from the author.

    For pro or commercial product support please contact the author directly on their site.

    http://help.tesseracttheme.com/

    As the author is aware, commercial products are not supported in these forums.

    I hope you are able to find support for your theme but please, seek support elsewhere. That theme is not welcome here.

    Please try to keep that theme out of it here too. 😉
