Support » Plugin: Visual CSS Style Editor » Editting page as logged out user

  • Resolved ValleyJim

I know that you can edit a page as a logged out user by clicking the little icon on the bottom right but I have a couple of problems….

First, that does not always show. So I have no way of editing a page as a logged out user in this case.

The other problem I have is more of a server issue I know, but there must be a way to work around the problem. On my site, if a user logged in and tries to access certain pages, then the site redirects them. For example, I have a page where a user can go enter an activation code that is emailed to them. If you are logged in, or if you have a cookie that you have already activated your account, you are redirected to the home page.

You are logged in to the site when you are editing pages, obviously. So I cannot access the activation page because whenever I try to edit it, I get redirected to the home page.

This action is by design, of course. So my suggestion is there needs to be a way to imitate a logged out user when opening a page, not just a way to click on something that says view as a logged out user. If the page redirects, like on my site, then you can never edit the page that you need to work on. Is there a way to open a page as a logged out user, and not just a way to click on something once the page is loaded?

I really hope all of this makes sense, it does to me at least when I read back over it. 🙂

    Thanks for reading!

    Hey Jim,

I’m sorry, YellowPencil cannot disable these page redirects. The only method is you disable page redirects and open with YellowPencil.

By the way, please be sure you are using the latest version, there is so much new features! 🙂

    Best Regards
