Am I the only one having problems with the new 2.2 release?

I reinstalled wordpress 2.0.1 from scratch (databases and everything) this morning and reinstalled editormonkey, but now both edit boxes show up on the edit page. I don’t think i’ve done anything different when installing the plugin.. i toyed around with the plugin options to no avail… annoying..

I’m using FCK but tinyMCE does the same…

EDIT: on a side note, any other suggestions for a good wysiwyg editor?

  • I installed this plugin last night and uninstalled it an hour later.I had the problems you had and more.I have tried many wysiwyg editors and have simply come to the conclusion that I am better off without them.

well, I disabled the rich text editor (users/profile) and it worked fine then…

When reinstalling EditorMonkey after reinstalling WordPress from scratch, you may encounter this problem b/c the database in which EditorMonkey’s options are stored isn’t cleared out.

So after upgrading, make sure to check up on all the settings in the options>editormonkey page before you use it in the post editing page.

Also, keeping EditorMonkey activated during the upgrade process may/will severely f*ck with the upgrade.

Following all recommendations and disabling plugins before doing anything, I upgraded 2.0 to 2.01 a week or so ago and had no problems getting FCKEditor back. In the EditorMonkey Config I have all checkboxes checked, the Basic setting is on FCKEditor, buttonset is WordPress Controls, skins are default.

I do notice the entire page is squished to the left, I’m guessing one of the CSS params is off. (Any ideas?)

See another post on FCKEditor for Comments that I’m posting right after this.

Skip that, I posted my notes to the EditorMonkey plugin site.

EditorMonkey was the best wysiwyg editor plugin ever. A shame that the author couldn’t continue the project.
