Support » Theme: Astra » Editor looks nothing like the frontend

In preparation for a major makeover of an old site, I’m working with a staging copy and trying out Astra and Gutenberg. (WP 5.2.2 and Astra 1.8.7) According to https://wpastra.com/gutenberg-compatible/ I should expect the view of a page in the editor to resemble its styling on the frontend, which would be great news if true. But so far in my experience, they look totally different! Backgrounds, margins, padding, and even font size in one case are all different. I haven’t even tried anything fancy like web fonts, inline floated images, etc. – this should be really basic stuff.

The two screenshots at https://imgur.com/a/onilhfp were taken with the browser window at exactly the same size, only switching between a tab with the editor and a tab viewing the page. There is a bit of explanation under each screenshot, besides the raw thoughts I typed on the actual page as filler.

(Note about the page link: I’m continually experimenting, so don’t expect the live page to look like the screenshots by the time you’re viewing this topic. I’m also going to try other themes.)

Others seem happy with how Astra works with the editor, so I’m probably doing something wrong – clues are appreciated.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]
