• I’ve just updated to the last version of WordPress (5.6.2), and this is how the editor looks now to me: https://prnt.sc/104464v
It seems like support for smaller screens was removes (My screen is 1440*900), so isn’t that small.
I can use whatever is visible, but I can’t see lots of things, including the Publish button.

If I change the size of the browser window using ctrl – to 80% of the screen all becomes visible, but obviously everything looks really small. This seems like an overflow issue: https://prnt.sc/1044g7a

    How could I fix this?

  • i have a similar issue. On pages only, not posts. when I open them to edit there is a paragraph block that i can’t delete or close that blocks the page i want to work on. I work on an apple laptop with a small screen.

Hey there. Thanks for reporting this and including screenshots. It helps a ton to have context! I tried various things to replicate this including resizing my screen and changing the size of my browser but wasn’t able to do so on a test site using the Twenty Twenty theme with no other plugins installed.

Before going further, can you confirm that this problem occurs when all other plugins are disabled and you’re using a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty or Twenty Twenty-one? This will help narrow down the possible problem further.

I ask because none of the fixes included in the 5.6.2 release were directly related to what you’re describing (this doesn’t mean there won’t be unintended side effects!).

It persists after I disabled all my plug-ins. And I have an Envato theme on my site.

    Hi @ralgtrx and @familiesgo

Please switch to a default theme such as Twenty Twenty One or Twenty Twenty.
    Then disable all the plugins.

See if the error remains. We ask you to do so to see if it is the theme or a plugin that is causing the error.

For instance I am testing using a local site running the new 5.6.2, no plugins activated and using the theme Twenty Twenty One. I then resize the browser to see if I have problems seeing the sidebar along with the Publish buttons etc. From what I experience the sidebar and publish buttons look fine.

Btw @familiesgo on a small screen the block toolbar automatically moves to the top bar. Switch to a default theme and see if you can now delete the stuck paragraph block.

    Hopefully the above will work!

    Hi @annezazu and @paaljoachim

I’ve done some testing and was able to pin down the problem. It’s a plugin, specifically
Ultimate Addons for Gutenberg. And more specifically, it only happens when using a Post Carousel.
Note: There could be more triggers for the problem, but that’s the one affecting me right now.

When I disable that plugin, the problem goes away. Sadly, I can’t just disable it because I use some of this blocks for a lot of content.

PD: Oh, and if you still need the info, the theme I’m using is Astra

PD2: I tried twenty twenty-one and twenty nineteen and the problem is not there. Seems to be linked to Astra and Ultimate Addons for Gutenberg working together.

    Hi @ralgtrx

This means you will need to contact support for the Astra theme
https://wpastra.com/support/open-a-ticket/ and let them know about this thread and the problems you are having.

Here is the support forum for Ultimate Addons for Gutenberg: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/ultimate-addons-for-gutenberg/ Do the same thing here as well.

What is important it to let theme and plugin creators know about problems that show up as they will have the opportunity to fix it. As there are usually many others who say nothing and either just live with the problem and try to find a work around to use something else.

I am glad you figured it out!

I disabled ultimat add-ons and still had this problem and I don’t use the Astra theme so I don’t think it’s that plug-in. I don’t really know how i would disable my theme without screwing up my site. So i see that as a last resort.

    Hi @familiesgo

Contact support for the theme you are using and mention what is going on. Mention what you have tried and that you do not want to switch themes as you are afraid it might screw up the site (fully understandable).
