Editing WordPress twenty Tewlve Theme

    Hi,

    Thanks to WordPress dev theme for their works, please I want to know if I am free to edit and rename WordPress Twenty Twelve theme. Renaming the theme avoid overriding the edits during upgrades. I am using the latest WordPress version.

    Yes, you can edit the theme, but the best way to do that is to create a child theme for the reasons that you mentioned. When you create a child theme, your changes will not get lost when the parent theme gets upgraded. And you can name the child theme whatever name you want (as long as it’s not the same as a theme that you already have installed).
