Editing Theme

A simple question I hope. I have uploaded a new theme and I want to edit it before I go live with it. I have not been able to figure out how to view the new template to see how it looks after editing code. I do not want to change to the new theme until I get all the editing done. Anyway of seeing the changes in a browser.
