Editing the look of the search…

    Hello all!

I was wondering how I can edit the look of the search bar on my blog. I really want to remove the ‘Search for:’ type before the search bar itself.

    Regards, James George Dunn.

(oh wait there I go again, flaunting my knowledge)

james, the default theme uses this:

    get_search_form

and that function includes the addition of that text.

you only have 2 real choices:

you can edit that function — not advised.

or you can edit your theme files. once youve removed that bit properly, you can then just use a widget and the title option for the wisget allows you to have nothing there or whatever you want there.

I spose a third option might be to just hide that text with css.
