Support » Fixing WordPress » Editing posts results in 403

  • Writing posts works great. When I try to edit a post with new content, I receive a 403 error message stating I don’t have permission to edit the file ‘/wp-admin/post.php’. This occurs when I click both the ‘save & continue editing’ & ‘save’ buttons.

I have multiple WordPress installations, and this occurs in 2 of the 3 installations. Oddly enough, the 2 it occurs in are directories in which I installed WordPress via my hosting frontend [although updated manually], whereas the other installation I installed & update manually. I’m already in contact with my hosting provider, seeing if they know the solution.

I believe the problem has something to do with logging in. Both the problematic installations fail to remember logins, even when the box ‘Remember Me’ is selected. My working installation rememebers logins just fine.

The 403 error started occurring with WordPress 2 only, although the login memory problems have been with these 2 installations since day 1 [Wordpress 1.5]

Any & all help is appreciated.
