Editing .php files in wordpress theme

  • Hello,
I think I may have done some irreversible damage to my site, but I’m not sure. I was trying to remove the footer widget, so I went into the widgets.php file in the editor section of wordpress and deleted the section of code that I thought was specific to the footer. I then clicked “update” and now all I get is this message:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ‘)’ in /home/content/91/9918091/html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/infinitythemetrust/admin/widgets.php on line 62″\

I’m not sure how to go about fixing this if I can’t navigate around the site.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • You may upload the same file from the original theme via FTP to your site.

In case you don’t have the file. Please use pastebin to paste the faulty code and paste the link on this forum.
