Editing Page Nav Color in Snow Summit Theme

  • I am having trouble modifying the color of the navigation links at the top of my page. The current page text displays in red and every page link turns red when I hover. I suspected the code would be in the style.css, but have not been able to find it. Any assistance with this will be greatly appreciated.

  • Having a search in style.css for the word ‘hover’ and you would have found the hover colors.

    This looks like the block you want, copy it and paste it at the end of style.css and make the change there, no need to edit existing styles.

    .navigation a:visited:hover,
    .navigation a:active,
    .navigation a:hover {
    	color: #df0000;
    	text-decoration:underline;
    }

    Hi David,
    Thanks for the quick reply. I am still unable to see this change. I’ve looked through all nav colors in the style.css and pasted your code at the end for good measures. Please see for yourself: http://lettersfromlimbo.com/p729/. Do you have any other suggestions?

    Hi Phil,
    That is because it is the active style, and you have a black.css file loading, might be a theme option?

    So the style you need to add to style.css is:

    #access ul li.current_page_item > a,
    #access ul li.current-menu-ancestor > a,
    #access ul li.current-menu-item > a,
    #access ul li.current-menu-parent > a {
        color: #AE0000;
    }

    I would also add the !important to the new color!

    color: #EE0000 !important;

    That helped. Thanks David.
