I just created a new site. I love the look and layout on my computer. However, the mobile site menu is less navigable. On the computer, the menu drops down when hovering, and then drops down to sub-categories from there. On the mobile, when the menu is dropped down, all of the pages are listed at once. With approximately 60 pages, needless to say, this will not work for my site. I’m not even able to get all 60 to list at once, it only scrolls down so far. Any way I can fix this?

    Thanks!
    Heather

    Heather,

    Thanks for using Tracks!

The menu is designed to handle 3-10 menu items really well, and you’re right, it certainly fails at 60.

To keep the menu from getting cut off, a little CSS can probably do the trick. If you share a link to your site, I’ll check it out and create a solution.

No problem, I just whipped up a pretty neat solution 🙂

Whenever the menu is opened, the height of the site will expand to accommodate the menu items, and then return to its original height when closed.

    Here is the child theme.

    To activate it:

    1. Visit your site’s dashboard
    2. Go to the Appearance menu
    3. Click on the “Add New” button at the top of the page
    4. Click on the “Upload Theme” button at the top of the page
    5. Click on the “Choose File” button
    6. Select the tracks-zip.zip file you downloaded from the link above
    7. Click the blue “activate” link

Once activated, your whole menu will be displayed on mobile devices.

One thing, if you decide to create a “custom menu” in the future, post here and I’ll make the necessary adjustment to keep the child theme working.

Thanks so much for this! When I download the link, it’s not downloading as a zipped file…is that going to be a problem when trying to upload it?

Yes, I’m guessing you’re using Safari and it auto-unzipped? You can right-click and choose the “Compress” option to rezip it, and then it can be uploaded.

Got it. And much better. Thank you so much! I’m really pleased with the theme. Clean and simple, but still sophisticated.
