Support » Fixing WordPress » Editing HTML to add Google search engine

  • I am very new at all of this and have a question I hope you don’t mind my asking.

I am using the FCKEditor for wordpress, and trying to figure out how to edit my main pages HTML code in order to add a google search engine. First of all, can this be done using FCKEditor, or do I need something else? Secondly, if it can be done, how do I do it? I have read info somewhat related to this on google, wordpress and FCKEditor, but in combination they have done more to create confusion then clarity.

I would at least like some direction on this if you have any suggestions or recomendations. I am running a Mac OS X in case that is pertinent.

Where do you want the Google Search to be on your site? Unless you want within the content area of specific posts or pages, you’ll need to edit the relevant template file in your theme. This can’t be done via the FCKEditor. but you can edit your template files via Admin/Appearance/Editor

    Thanks esmi!!! That worked perfect.
