    Hi I’m using the Sweetheat theme and I’m trying to replace the footer content (“Proudly Powered by WordPress” and theme credits) with my copyright… what code do I need to do so and where should it go? I have created a child theme…

  • create a copy of footer.phpin the child theme;

    edit this section:

    <a href="<?php echo esc_url( __( 'http://wordpress.org/', 'sweetheat' ) ); ?>"><?php printf( __( 'Proudly powered by %s', 'sweetheat' ), 'WordPress' ); ?></a>
    						<span class="sep"> | </span>
    						<?php printf( __( 'Theme: %2$s by %1$s', 'sweetheat' ), 'aThemes', '<a href="http://athemes.com/theme/sweetheat">Sweetheat</a>' ); ?>

    and replace it with your own copyright text.

    for theme specific details, please post in https://wordpress.org/support/theme/sweetheat

    Thank you, that worked like a charm!
