Editing Font for Bulleted Lists

I’m running an older version of the Magazine Basic theme (2.7.9) and would like to be able to change the font style for bulleted lists.
I’ve tried adding various CSS selectors under “Edit Font Controls,” however the default Magazine Basic theme font seems to override any attempted changes.
