[Resolved] Editing content takes up credit??

  • Why is it that when content which was ‘digiproved’ when first published uses up a digiprove credit when it is edited and republished? The 5 daily credits will not go a long way like that!

And a separate question – what is to stop a person from copying content and then digiproving such content as their own? Will your system be able to detect that the content is not original?

    Hi there,

The purpose of having multiple Digiproves of the “same” document is to allow revisions (which may well incorporate some additional original content) to also be protected. The plugin will only perform a Digiprove if a) the content is actually different from the last one, and b) if the “Digiprove and Update” button rather than “Update” is pressed.

If someone steals content and Digiproves it they are not proving that they owned they are simply creating proof that they had possession of it at a specific date and time. If the original creator does this before publication then he or she can be confident that they have the earliest Digiprove certification and that completely undermines any subsequent Digiprove txn.
