I am really getting frustrated with the templates that I have recently downloaded.
I have installed the essence template from ithemes.com and they haven’t been much help on this issue.
I have always been able to edit the code without a problem on other templates but for the essence theme I am unable to save the changes in the template when trying to edit the code. The error that comes up in coffeecup FTP when I try to edit the permissions is: “Error #21: When sending custom QUOTE commands to the remote server, one of the commands returned an error code that is 400 or higher.”

I have been told that it is the permissions, but I can’t get the permissions to save either.
I am using coffeecup FTP. I can also use godaddy’s ftp when I log in but neither of them will let me change the permissions.

WHAT CAN I DO SO I CAN EDIT THE CODE WHENEVER I WANT?

Download the theme files, edit offline then upload your changed files.

Why are you not editing the theme files from within the dashboard?

I have never had a problem with this.

I am not familiar with CoffeeCup FTP as I am a Mac user and use FETCH.
