 * How do I save changes in css code? The Theme is “Live”.
    According to Codex I
do not need permission to edit.

 * Have you tried using Admin/Appearance/Editor?

 * Yes, I can change the code in Editor, but I haven’t figured out how to save the
changes. If the changes are not saved they don’t take effect.

 * There should be an Update File button at the bottom of the file text area. Remember
to press CTRL and F5 simultaneously when viewing an updated page/site. Or try
emptying your browser cache. This should ensure that your web browser fetches
a fresh copy of the page rather than serving up an out-dated copy from your own
   cache.

 * There is no update file button. I suppose the file is not writable.
    From Codex,
   Editing Files, I quote:
 * “If the file is “writable” (allowed to be changed), you will see a button at
the bottom of the editing window that says Update File. Click this when you are
done with your edits and ready to save the file.
If the file is not “writable”,
you will see a note under the bottom of the editing window saying the file is
not writable. You will need to _CHMOD the file to 666_ in order to make it writable
through an FTP program (preferably FileZilla) before you can edit it.” (my emphasis).
 * The phrase “CHMOD the file to 666” is Greek to me. Are you able to translate?
