Editing a previous theme

    Hi,
    I’m new to WordPress theme development and I’ve completed designing my theme. Actually what I did was i completely edited a previously written theme under General Public License. So is it legal to publish the theme with my name and with a credit link?

    PS : My result looks 0% like it looked before
