 * Hello all, I am very new to wordpress so please forgive my ignorance! I bought
   an existing website and am in the process of making some changes to the site 
   and there is a horizontal bar at the very bottom of the site that has the menu
   of categories as well as the copyright disclosure. How to I go about editing 
   this section?

 * Actually you shouldn’t edit your theme directly (becuase you will lose your changes
   when a theme updates).
 * Make a child theme: [http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes](http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes)
 * Then you can copy the theme’s footer.php into your child folder and edit all 
   you want, safely 🙂
