    Hello

I trust this makes sense πŸ˜‰
Godaddy Shared Hosting on Windows – 2 domains

Shared hosting has a primary address of say “notapplicabletothisdomain.com” when you install WP via Godaddy tools

    So I wanted to change:
    http://www.notapplicabletothisdomain.com/blog
    http://www.applicabledomain.com/blog

NOTE both http://www.notapplicabletothisdomain.com and http://www.applicabledomain.co are hosted in Windos Shared Hosting

I read the WP doc on making this change which I had successfully completed on other occasions. And have edited the WordPress address (URL) and Site Address to reflect the correct domain details

    Error

When I click posts within the WP dashboard (url http://www.applicabledomain.com/blog/wp-admin/edit.php) I get page not found

However when I browse within ftp client file it is there

Also if I expand posts within the dashboard and select new post or categories the link works as expected

I have tested most other WP dashboard links and they all function as expected

I would appreciate a fix please

    Thanks in advance

    Phil

    P.S. Godaddy said re-install WP… sounds like a the time-old please reboot IT response…LOL

Try re-saving your permalink structure at Settings/Permalinks in your admin panel. If WordPress cannot automatically edit the .htaccess file, it will provide manual instructions after saving.

Thanks for your reply…I appreciate it

This is the message response to the change in Permalinks – Permalink structure updated. Remove write access on web.config file now!

I looked this up and followed the link and actioned it:

I shall wait for the process (hosting on Linux) to complete πŸ˜‰

Ok the move to Linux broke the site… however after all the drama I have had with Godaddy Windows hosting. And all the supporting advice I read, it seems this is the way forward

So will just setup again quick πŸ˜‰

    Thanks

    Phil
