I added in a piece of code to functions.php and hit Update File. After that, everything in the admin as well as my site (www.theamateuroutdoorsman.com) is just all white – no copy or images are appearing, except the functions.php editor page, that still shows up as normal.

Next, I deleted that code and then hit Update File so the original functions.php code was there, but everything is still showing white, except the functions.php editor page in the admin.

Any suggestions on how to get back to the admin and my site?

For more clarification, I’m using the latest version of Genesis Framework and have done any other editing to the code other than what’s mentioned above.

When you make a mistake in the functions.php file, you can’t fix it through the editor anymore. Instead, you have to open the file via FTP. If you navigate to it there, you can delete the code you added, and it should be fine.

A helpful tip for working with functions is to use a functionality plugin for testing–google it and you’ll get a tutorial. I find them really useful.

Thanks much Peninah. I worked through Filezilla and made the change – was easier than I thought. I’ll also grab the correct plugin.
