# Edit widget

 * I’m the admin of a private WordPress site that is used as an online calendar 
   and download hub for remote employees (not as a blog). Since all posts are made
   by me, and are either calendar events or links to downloadable documents, I edited
   the appropriate files so posts don’t display author, comments, categories or 
   tags – only the posting date is shown.
 * I recently added the Categories widget so staff can access all documents of a
   particular type (I don’t display categories, but I do categorize posts) using
   the dropdown menu. On the page that is created when a category is selected from
   the menu, all the posts include “Posted by (author),” “Leave a comment (link),”“
   edit (link),” “Filed under (category),” and “Tagged with (blank, since I don’t
   use tags).” We don’t need any of this, and as one of our remote staff has ADHD,
   I’d really like to get it off the pages produced by the Categories widget, which
   is apparently not controlled by the changes I made for regular posts.
 * I can ftp files from my WordPress directories and edit them in a text editor,
   but I need help locating the correct file. I also don’t know php at all, so I
   need assistance with pinpointing EXACTLY what text I need to edit/remove to get
   rid of the unwanted features. (I always save the original file until I have tested
   the edited one). Your help with this would be appreciated!

 * I don’t know for other themes, but with the default theme, I was able to edit
   the category (actually, any) archive in the archive.php file. It is under wp-
   content/themes/default in my WordPress directory. In order to get the effect 
   that you want, I would delete the line beginning with `<p class="postmetadata"
   >`.
