I just upgraded to WordPress 4.1, but now I have a problem. I can no longer edit in “Visual” mode, because it won’t show me anything I’ve entered in the code view, and won’t give me a cursor in Visual, either. I can’t even resize the field; it’s just a big white rectangle. What’s wrong?

  • Disable any TinyMCE plugins you have active and test again.

    Don’t have any.

Currently active plugins are Akismet, Blubrry PowerPress, Dagon Design Form Mailer, Search & Replace, and Social Sharing Toolkit.

Ok then disable all plugin and test. Try a default theme and test. If still no joy then I’d try a re-install of 4.1. I think it must be a conflict or corupt file.

Try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

Edit: It might also be a Browser Cache issue. Try a different Browser and clear all of the caches.

    A reinstall worked! Thanks.

I am having the same problem for two of my sites. How do you delete wordpress and how do you down load it? Sorry I sounded so dumb when I asked that question.
