# Edit post destroys HTML code

 * I have a page that displays a Flickr slideshow:-
    [http://www.greenfriends.org.uk/wordpress/?p=345](http://www.greenfriends.org.uk/wordpress/?p=345)
 * When I edit this page to remove a redundant full stop in Visual mode, all the
   HTML code for the slideshow disappears. This does not happen if the editing is
   done in HTML mode. Why on earth does this happen?

 * Because the Visual Editor is not meant to be used for HTML markup.

 * Why? If you search the forums, you will see that it an oft-repeated fact. The
   Visual editor will strip most HTML markup from post content. If you want to use
   markup, use the HTML tab.
